BK Häcken was one of 123 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Oktoberpokalen 2016. They participated with two teams in P04 Extra Svår (Inbjudningsklass) and P04 Lätt/Medel respectively. The team in P04 Lätt/Medel made it to the the Semi final in Slutspel, but lost it against IFK Österåker FK P05:1 by 0-1.
In addition to this, BK Häcken have participated in Oktoberpokalen before. During Oktoberpokalen 2015, Häcken had two teams playing in P03 Extra Svår and P03 Svår respectively. The team in P03 Svår made it to the the Final in A-Slutspel, but lost it against IF Brommapojkarna 3 by 3-5. Häcken comes from Göteborg which lies approximately 400 km from Djursholm, where Oktoberpokalen takes place. The area around Göteborg does also provide two additional clubs participating during Oktoberpokalen 2016 (IFK Göteborg and GAIS).
