Vasalunds IF was one of 123 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Oktoberpokalen 2016. They participated with three teams in P06 Svår/Extra Svår, P05 Svår/Extra Svår and P04 Svår respectively. The team in P04 Svår made it to the the in Gruppspel, but lost it against FC Djursholm Röd by 2-2.
In addition to this, Vasalunds IF have participated in Oktoberpokalen before. During Oktoberpokalen 2015, Vasalunds had three teams playing in P06 Lätt/Medel, P05 Svår/Extra Svår and P03 Svår respectively. The team in P05 Svår/Extra Svår made it to the the Bronze match in A-Slutspel, but lost it against Trelleborg United FF by 3-4. Vasalunds comes from Solna which lies approximately 5 km from Djursholm, where Oktoberpokalen takes place.
