IFK Lidingö FK was one of 123 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Oktoberpokalen 2016. They participated with 9 teams in P07 Svår/Extra Svår, P05 Extra Svår [9-m] (Inbjudningsklass), P05 Lätt/Medel and F07 respectively. The team in P05 Extra Svår [9-m] (Inbjudningsklass) made it to the the Bronze match in Slutspel, but lost it against IFK Göteborg by 1-3.
In addition to this, IFK Lidingö FK have participated in Oktoberpokalen before. During Oktoberpokalen 2015, IFK Lidingö FK had 8 teams playing in P05 Svår/Extra Svår, P04 Extra Svår (9-manna), P04 Lätt/Medel, P04 Svår/Extra Svår (7-manna), P03 Extra Svår and P03 Svår respectively. Three teams played until in Gruppspel; P03 Extra Svår U lost against IFK Haninge/Brb by 1-2, P03 Svår T blå lost against IF Brommapojkarna 2 by 0-4 and P03 Svår T vit lost against Boo FF by 1-11. IFK Lidingö FK comes from Lidingö which lies approximately 5 km from Djursholm, where Oktoberpokalen takes place. The area around Lidingö does also provide 104 additional clubs participating during Oktoberpokalen 2016 (Among others: Täby FK, Nacka FC, Hammarby IF FF, IFK Vaxholm, Djurgårdens IF FF 7, Saltsjöbadens if, Hanvikens SK, Apollon Solna FK, Stureby SK and Jarlabergs IF).
