In addition to IFK Österåker FK 1, 21 other teams played in P05 Svår/Extra Svår. They were divided into 5 different groups, whereof IFK Österåker FK 1 could be found in Group 2 together with AIK FF P06A, Djurgårdens IF FF 2 and Spånga IS FK.

IFK Österåker FK 1 continued to Slutspel A after reaching 2:nd place in Group 2. In the playoff they made it to 1/8 Final, but lost it against Vasalunds IF Tensta with 1-2. In the Final, IF Brommapojkarna 06-1 won over FC Järfälla Svart and became the winner of Slutspel A in P05 Svår/Extra Svår.

IFK Österåker FK 1 comes from Åkersberga which lies approximately 14 km from Djursholm, where Oktoberpokalen takes place. The area around Åkersberga does also provide 101 additional clubs participating during Oktoberpokalen 2016 (Among others: Täby FK, Nacka FC, Hammarby IF FF, IFK Vaxholm, Djurgårdens IF FF 7, Saltsjöbadens if, Hanvikens SK, Apollon Solna FK, Stureby SK and Jarlabergs IF).
